Keep Ports Available While Your Laptop Charges

Newer tablets, laptops, Chromebook and MacBook notebooks, desktop computers and even smartphones often have USB Type-C ports, but come equipped with few others. Using a single USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port, this Tripp Lite docking station adds multiple connection options to your device.

Typical Applications

One USB-C connection provides a large variety of ports, so you don’t need multiple adapters. If you keep the docking station on your desk, you’ll have only one cable to unplug when you take your laptop on the road.

This docking station supports USB DisplayPort Alternate Mode (Alt Mode) for transmitting video to a monitor, television or projector. The HDMI port and DP support digital video resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 (4K x 2K) at 30 Hz. The VGA port supports video resolutions up to 1920 x 1200, including 1080p, at 60 Hz.

The USB-A ports allow you to connect a huge variety of USB devices, including flash drives, cameras, keyboards, mice and external hard drives. You can also connect a printer with a USB cable when a wireless connection isn’t feasible. The ports support USB 3.1 Gen 1 data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps and are backward compatible with previous USB generations. All support device charging and two of the ports meet BC 1.2 to provide up to 1.5A each.

Limited USB-C ports can force you to choose between connecting a peripheral and charging your laptop’s battery. The USB-C Power Delivery (PD) port powers and charges your laptop without affecting the other connections. Your laptop’s wall charger connects to the USB-C PD port, which supports power input up to 20V, 5A (100W). The port also supports data transfer.
