Plugable Docking Stations

Plugable UD-ULTCDL triple monitor dock with 3 HDMI ports for USB-C, USB4, or Thunderbolt laptops, including M1-M5 Macs and MacBook Neo. Delivers up to 100W host charging via rear USB-C and 20W fast charging via front USB-C. Note: Corporate laptops may restrict driver installation.

Do I need to install software in order to use the device?

Yes, DisplayLink software is required for the UD-ULTCDL for full functionality. Manual installation is required for macOS. Installation is typically automatic on Windows. No driver installation required for ChromeOS.

Does this dock allow for three displays even on MacBook Neo, M1, M2, or M3?

Yes. Enabled by DisplayLink technology, UD-ULTCDL can connect three displays (1x 4K 30Hz, 2x 1080p/1200p 60Hz) even if the computer supports only one display output on its own. DisplayLink Manager installation required on Mac.

Why does macOS ask for “Screen Recording” permission?

macOS requires Screen Recording permission for DisplayLink to send display data over USB to connected monitors. No content is recorded or stored. This permission is required by macOS for USB graphics to function properly.

Which USB-C port on the dock can be used to connect my computer?

Use the rear USB-C port to connect your computer to the dock. The front USB-C port is for accessories and charging only and cannot be used as the host connection.

Why aren’t all three displays connecting to my dock?

If only one display works, DisplayLink software may not be installed or running. If only two displays work, the USB-C cable may not support DP Alt Mode, which is required for the third display. Use the included USB-C cable to ensure full function.
