Does this docking station require any software or driver installation?

No. The UD-CUBE is a driverless docking station. It uses native USB-C video support via DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt. No downloads or installations are needed.

Will this work with any USB-C port?

No. The host device must support DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt. Not all USB-C ports support video. Please check with your device manufacturer or contact Plugable support if you're unsure.

Will this dock charge my laptop?

No. The UD-CUBE does not provide Power Delivery (charging) to the host system. It must be used with the included AC power adapter.

Will this work with my iPad or Android device?

The UD-CUBE can be used with any mobile device that supports DP Alt Mode over USB-C

Do I need to have the power adapter connected to my UD-CUBE?

No. The UD-CUBE is capable of being operated without the power adapter and can be fully powered via the host bus connection.
