Manufacturers of Flash (memory) or solid-state drive devices generally calculate in 1000 as the binary, i.e. 1KB=1000Bytes, 1GB=1000M, and operating systems calculate capacity in 1024 as the binary, i.e. 1KB=1024Bytes, 1GB=1024M, and the reported capacity after formatting will be less than the nominal capacity. System files also take up a small amount of space under different operating systems. For example: Nominal capacity 128GB, actual capacity about 117GB; nominal capacity 256GB, actual capacity about 238GB

It is normal for USB flash drives to get a little hot. When the USB flash drive is powered on, it will transfer data, causing the electronic components inside the drive to give off heat. The chip generates heat according to factors such as the length of power-on time, the frequency of read and write operations, and the speed of read and write. The speed of a single copy of a file that is less than or equal to the SLC cache set capacity is very fast. SLC buffer generally only accounts for 20% of the total capacity. Such as 1TB products, SLC buffer is generally less than 200GB, and the speed of a single copy of the file within 200GB is very fast. When a single copy exceeds this capacity, the later speed may slow down. The above is the result of Flash characteristics. It is normal that the speed may decrease when the capacity of a single copy exceeds the cache capacity and you copy small and fragmented files.

When copying a single file, the system only needs to create one index. When copying a large number of fine folders, each file needs to be indexed, so it will take relatively long time. And multiple tasks going on at the same time can also increase the load on your computer and slow it down.

For better faster transfer speed with the files over 4GB , the default file system for USB flash drives is exFAT. If you want better widely compatible with the operating system and the maximum unit file size is not exceed 4GB, the file system for USB flash drives should be FAT32, it is recommended that you reset the file system in the following way: 1. connecting the storage product to the computer; 2. right-clicking on the partition and selecting Format; 3. select FAT32 format in the file system options; 4. Click Start to finish.
